Instructions:

  1. Cut all Styrofoam balls in half with Testors Hobby Knife. 
  2. Place half of the 3” Styrofoam ball towards the bottom of the right side. Trace around it with a pencil. Draw a dot in the middle of your circle to represent the center of the sun. From the center, draw a larger circle 1” away, 3 ½” away, 4 ¾” away,  5 ¾” away, 7” away, 15 ¼” away, 18 ½” away, 21” away and finally, 25 ¾” away. Trace the circles with Testors Metallic Silver Acrylic Marker. Set aside and allow to dry. 
  3. Double stick tape each of the halved Styrofoam balls to cardboard to paint. Use Testors economy paint brushes and Testors acrylic paint to paint the 5” ball yellow, 1 ¼” ball orange, 1 ½” ball green, 1 ½” ball lue, 1 ¼” ball red, 4” ball orange, 3” ball yellow, 4 ¾” wreath ring orange, 2 ½” ball gray and 2” ball blue. Dry. 
  4. Attach planets with Testors super glue. Let glue dry. 
    Planet Distance from center of Sun:
    Mercury 3 ½” 
    Venus 4 ¾” 
    Earth 5 ¾” 
    Mars 7” 
    Jupiter 15 ¼” 
    Saturn 18 ½” 
    Uranus 21” 
    Neptune 25 ¾”
  5. Label each planet.
